Genoa Bay to Sidney

Sadly, the end of our trip is nearing. Tomorrow we cross back into the US. Our last night in Canada is in Sidney. That’s just a short hop back to customs in Roche Harbor. One more night in the islands.

And we are off … somewhere …

… so we decided to spend the day at Russell Island. It was so nice there yesterday afternoon. We wanted to go ashore and see the sights. We dropped the anchor on the shallow shelf near the park and broke out the dinghy for the trip ashore. We had a nice little hike around the trails. The view from the point is really great.

The far side of the island is mostly cliffs. Fantastic views all around.

We even visited the old homestead of Maria Mahoi.

We have never stopped at Russell Island (before yesterday). It’s a really nice place to spend a day.

Then it was time to head back to the boat for lunch. It’s pretty much always time for lunch on the boat. Kim whipped up some great Pita bread sandwiches.

We made some new bungie cords to hold the fenders. one on each side. Exciting.

Then it was off to Sidney.

And that’s where we are now. Dinner is at Bistro Suisse. Kim has Cheese Fondue there every time we are here. Must go back to her youth in the Netherlands and travels in Europe.
