Some time ago I posted about my new Crocs boat shoes. You can find the original post here. Since that time they have become my favorite shoes for land and sea. These are the shoes I wear on the boat. I like them enough that I bought a pair for home.
I wear them when I am working on the boat, lounging around, and going ashore. With the open sections along the sole, they are great for going ashore in the dinghy. It doesn’t matter if they get wet. They drain and dry easily.
Kim was a bit envious so she bought herself a pair also.
For more details, see my original post.
Enjoy your website. I wear regular Crocs almost full time. Do these have a good non-skid sole similar to Topsiders or is it a regular Croc sole ?
I have also noted significant variation in actual vs. nominal size for the identical models. Hard to understand coming out of a mold.
Thanks, Jim
Thanks for taking the time to comment! The soles appear to be combination of plastic and rubber. There is a good picture on the Crocs site at http://www.crocs.com/crocs-mens-beach-line-boat-shoe/14327,default,pd.html?cid=25A&cgid=beach-line-boat-collection. I cannot attest to the non-skid quality of the soles. They have worked fine for me. Our current boat has wide teak decks. It might be different scrambling around on the sailboat we used to have.
Since Rusty shared that he bought me some of these (and yes, I also now have a pair at home and for the boat), I do feel compelled to clarify that mine are these: http://www.zappos.com/crocs-beach-line-boat-shoe-espresso-stucco?zfcTest=fcl%3A3, just so it’s clear mine aren’t hot pink and green. He’s right, they’re really nice, especially if it’s really hot. They’re so lightweight and have the holes around where the upper and sole meet – great for when flip-flops are inappropriate. Anyone who knows me will know that I am NOT a shoe person, but I really do like these.
